To celebrate Hardy's and Nottage Hill link up with Come Dine With Me we recently ran a competition to win one of 6 Simple to Sensational Recipe Books by Jun Tanaka - the perfect dinner party companion!

We asked our fans across facebook and twitter to send us their simple yet delicious recipe ideas and the team choose the six best to win the book.

We promised to share them with you so here they are below:

Tom Furr and his 'Peachy Pastry' - "Cook sugar and butter in a pan until it caramelises - once this happens add slices of peaches (fresh or canned) and allow to cool. Cover with pastry (homemade or shop-bought) and pop it in the oven for 30mins around 180C - once cooked flip it over, served with cream it's the perfect egg and nut free winter dessert!

Vikki Louise and her 'Simple Shortbread' - "Take 5oz of plain flour, 2oz butter, 4oz caster sugar - mix and roll out the dough. Press in chocolate chips to make fun face shapes - cook for 12-15mins at 180C and there you have it - yummy shortbread!"

Michelle Kemp and her 'Simple Scallop Starter' - "Chop Chorizo sausage into rounds (not too thick) and pan fry for 2 minutes on either side or until crispy but don't overcook (you don't need to add oil - as the chorizo cooks, it produces its own oil.) Add scallops to the pan and cook 1 minute on each side, allowing them to soak up the chorizo oil flavour. Prepare salad leaves on a plate and arrange scallops and chorizo on top, pour over some of the hot oil and scatter some parsley (optional) - a tasty and simple starter!

Lucy Richards and her 'Mincemeat and Ginger Santa Sacks' - "Soak dried fruit in brandy for an hour. Add ginger, crushed walneus and grated apple. Lay out 15cm filo pastry squares and brush with butter. Stack 3 to a pile. Fill each pile with 1tablespoon of the mixture. Gather together and pinch at the top to enclose the filling. Bake for 12-15 mins and serve lightly sprinkled with icing sugar. Ho ho ho!"

Emily Owen and her 'Bloody Spaghetti' - "Add a Bloody Mary (shot of vodka inclusive) to a spaghetti bolognese for a real kick and depth of flavours. Sounds crazy but tastes superb!"

Rachael Lews and her 'Christmas Pasties' - "These pasties are perfect way to use up those left overs from Christmas dinner. I get in some short crust pastry sheets and on Boxing Day load them up with Turkey, sausage, bacon, stuffing, roast vegetables, potato and cranberry sauce. I glaze them with egg yolk and bake in the over for 30mins. I then send my husband off to work on boxing day evening with a tub full for him and the boys!"

Thank you to everyone who entered and a big well done to our winners above!
